The Euro 2016 (officially, European Football Championship
2016 UEFA EURO 2016 ™ and UEFA ) will be the fifteenth edition of the
tournament of European national teams.
It will be held in the summer of 2016 in
France in January and is organized by the UEFA .
The Euro 2016 will be the one
with the most number of participants in the final phase of its history,
expanding from 16 to 24 teams that will compete in the tournament. 2 3 The
winner will participate in his capacity as champion of the area in the Confederations
Cup Russia 2017 .
The tournament consisted of a group stage in which 53
participants were divided into 9 groups, 8 of them made up of 6 teams and one
consisting of 5 teams, the top two in each group and the best third classified
Euro 2016 while the 8 remaining third went to contest the play-offs stage of
departure the last four qualifiers.
